Swing Season Privacy Policy
Green Jacket Labs LLC ("Green Jacket Labs," "we," or "us") builds Swing Season, an iPhone golf launch monitor, range, and simulator. This policy describes the information the app uses, what stays on your devices, and the limited information sent to service providers when you use network features.
Information processed on your devices
Swing Season processes the following information locally on your iPhone or connected devices:
- Camera and historical media. Current capture is video-only: the camera measures a golf ball's launch, and this version does not request microphone access. Older recordings may contain audio; when present, the app may analyze that audio locally to locate impact during historical review or reprocessing. Saved media remain on your device.
- Phone motion. Device orientation corrects camera tilt and records the camera pose used for a read.
- Golf profile and activity. Your handedness, bag, club settings, launch results, Range sessions, Sim round state, and downloaded courses are stored locally.
- Impact frames. Impact frames are retained on-device according to your settings and are never uploaded.
- Diagnostics. Apple's MetricKit can deliver crash and hang reports to the app. Swing Season stores those reports locally and does not automatically upload them to Green Jacket Labs.
- Apple Watch. The optional Watch app is a remote control and readout. While a Range or Sim session is active it starts an Apple HealthKit workout session to keep the watch awake and its always-on display lit; this is the only use of HealthKit, and the app reads and saves no health or fitness data (not heart rate, calories, or any other metric). watchOS may show a HealthKit permission prompt the first time. This version does not collect Watch motion data.
Green Jacket Labs does not receive this locally processed information unless you deliberately share a file with us, such as when requesting support.
Information sent when you use network features
Swing Season uses network services for specific app functions:
- Live weather through Open-Meteo. If live conditions are enabled, the app sends latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo. For Range conditions, these coordinates describe the phone's location and are rounded to four decimal places. For Sim conditions, they describe the selected course. The request does not include a Swing Season account, advertising identifier, or Green Jacket Labs user identifier. Like any internet request, it also exposes the device's public IP address to the service.
- Course downloads through Amazon CloudFront. The app requests the course catalog, preview images, and course packs from Green Jacket Labs' CloudFront distribution. These requests identify the requested files and necessarily expose ordinary connection information such as an IP address to the delivery provider. They do not include your swing videos, launch results, golf profile, contacts, or advertising identifier.
- Apple services. MapKit may provide maps and local search, and StoreKit/App Store services handle subscriptions, purchases, and entitlement restoration. Apple handles information used by those services under Apple's privacy policies. Green Jacket Labs does not receive your payment-card details.
- Nearby display mode. If you choose an iPad as a nearby display, shot and presentation data travel directly over your local network between your devices. Green Jacket Labs does not receive that local-network stream.
Swing Season does not use third-party advertising SDKs, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell personal information.
Your choices
- Camera, motion, location, and local-network permissions can be changed in iOS Settings.
- In Swing Season Settings, you can turn off Sim live conditions and Range local air. When disabled, the corresponding location is not sent to Open-Meteo and shots use standard conditions.
- You can remove downloaded courses individually in Settings.
- Delete all sessions removes saved swing-review sessions and their associated recordings. It does not delete downloaded courses, Range or Sim history, preferences, or local diagnostics.
- Deleting the app removes its local app data from the device, subject to Apple's normal device and backup behavior.
- You may contact us to ask a privacy question or request deletion of information you previously sent directly to Green Jacket Labs for support.
Retention
Range sessions and Sim rounds remain on-device for the retention period you choose; other locally stored information remains until you delete the relevant item or the app. Green Jacket Labs does not maintain an account database for Swing Season. Service providers may retain ordinary request records under their own policies and the configurations used to operate their services.
Children
Swing Season is not directed to children under 13, and Green Jacket Labs does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Swing Season changes. We will revise the date above and publish the updated policy at the privacy-policy URL listed in the App Store and inside the app.
